Our Impact

The crisis is real – and it’s up to us to do something.

Homelessness is on the rise. Nearly 5,200 people experience homelessness across Greater Baltimore every year. On any given night, more than 1,500 people don’t have a safe place to call their own.

And the growing epidemic of substance abuse is one of the greatest public health crises in our time. Baltimore has the highest number of drug overdose deaths in the country. In addition to taking lives, the crisis of addiction destroys individuals, families, and neighborhoods – furthering the devastating cycle of homelessness and poverty.

In these uncertain times, more people find themselves struggling – emotionally, financially, and spiritually. Over the past few years, a growing number of people are experiencing the desperation and heartbreak of homelessness.

What are the causes?

The causes of addiction are as varied and complex
as the people who fall victim to substance abuse. They could include:

Our impact iwt

The number of our neighbors who are desperate to overcome addiction is heartbreaking. Others are trying to overcome abuse or past trauma and turn to us in search of healing. And some were unable to complete their schooling and are in need of education and vocational training so they can secure sustainable, independent living.

We believe everyone has an opportunity to experience freedom

from homelessness, poverty, addiction, and any other obstacles that are holding them back. And support from people like you helps make that possible – meeting their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs to restore hope and rebuild lives.

The challenges are real, but so are the solutions.

Thank you for your support that’s making a huge impact right here in our community:
