For many of our men, life has been concrete, noise, and survival. Then they step into a quiet pasture, meet a horse face-to-face, and something shifts.
Lita and Ric Hughes lead Helping Up Mission’s equine therapy program. Their son, Cooper, graduated from Helping Up Mission and found peace with the horses. He has since passed away, but his story still lives here.
Ric says, “You can feel God’s fingerprints on the day.”
Lita adds, “The men feel full, they feel peace and they feel God.”
