Approximately one-third of the 500 men at Helping Up Mission come directly from sleeping outdoors, in a car, in an abandoned house, or “couch-surfing.”
You’ll find a safe, supportive home where you can recover here at HUM!
Hope starts hereYou can break free from substance abuse or homelessness by addressing the root causes that hold you back. You’ll be part of a caring community of hope – surrounded by people like you who have faced (and overcome!) similar challenges. You’ll sense the love of God here. You’ll make lifelong friends. And you can find a path that leads to hope, healing, and renewal.
At any given time, as many as 575 men and women are on our campus in various stages of recovery.

From the streets to sober… Michael’s life has dramatically changed
“I don't see myself as a castaway anymore. I don't see myself as being secluded. I fit in with the people here… even the staff. They've been through what I've been through. Just being in here with people that are going through the same situation, it makes me feel understood, like I'm not alone. I’m definitely not alone. I’m thankful to the Mission because they treat me like a human being.”
– Michael
