The Mission Gazette

There is incredible talent among the men of Helping Up Mission.   From food service to maintenance; from our learning center to the program office; from IT to softball; from poetry to music and the arts, our guys can do it all.
So, it is no surprise that they have created an in-house newspaper just for them. The “Mission Gazette” first hit the newsstand in February and the March issue is now available. This is the 4th edition of an in-house paper during my 12 years at Helping Up Mission. Originally called “The HUM Herald,” this is the 2nd run as the Mission Gazette (thus volume 2).
Facilitated by Program Administrator David Carriker, it is the work of Graduate Intern Mark (supervising the ILC – our Innovative Learning Center) as editor, Graduate intern David (and my assistant) as consultant, Intern John (archives) and Program member Edward (design).
Coming out monthly, I think this is the best newspaper yet – although some will think I am prejudiced because the second issue features me! Stories by and about the guys, events on and off campus in which they participate, and achievements during the past month are featured in each issue. There is also artwork and poetry by Helping Up Mission men, as well.

You can’t buy a monthly subscription, but you can see them as they come out each month. Click on… http://community.helpingupmission.org/Document.Doc?id=120 ,and you will be able to see the next Mission Gazette as soon as it is available, as well as view past issues.
One issue at a time,
