Rob the Server

When Rob came to HUM, he got serious about being clean and diligently began working his recovery.  It didn’t take long for him to also realize the benefits of giving back/passing it on.  He found a church home and a home group and began to serve.

Last weekend Rob’s church took a mini “carnival” into a poor community of Baltimore. The live music (what Rob did) and a Moon Bounce for the kids were highlights.

One family, walking down the street, saw the event in progress.  Watching his daughter playing on the Moon Bounce, the father said it was her birthday and they did not have money to do anything special for her.  It was like God created this event just for her!

Another man walked up and loudly complained about the noise and disruption the carnival was creating on his street.  He left unhappy, too, unmoved by the answers he was given.

Later in the day Rob saw the man back – with his little daughter – and she was playing on the Moon Bounce!  Apparently all was forgiven.

Life can be a lot of fun sober.  Ministry to others even better!
