Whereto from Here?

Alexander’s a bright, passionate and focused college student in the Boston area who is struggling with God’s plan for his life. Finishing his junior year, he wants to make a proper career choice.

Alexander’s problem is that he feels called to work in Biblical archaeology but knows there aren’t many career jobs in that field. A few years ago he read my article “So You Want to be an Archaeologist” (http://www.biblearchaeology.org/post/2005/11/05/So-You-Want-To-Be-An-Archaeologist.aspx#Article) and that’s how we got connected.

Consequently we’ve emailed back and forth the past couple of years and recently been talking on the phone. Alexander is now at a place of decision to either finish his current major or switch and spend an extra semester taking additional courses he would need for another major. Drop/add is this week, so we’ve emailed, texted, talked and prayed!

To get where he’s supposed to be, Alexander can’t do any better than Honest, Open and Willing (HOW) before God one day at a time. He’s committed and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Even more exciting for me, though, is the fact that I get to pass along the same message of hope, answers and empowerment to the guys at HUM. I expect Alexander to make a contribution in the field where God places him someday. I feel the same way about the guys I spend time with here every day!
