Daniel’s Back!

Daniel’s an old guy who came to Helping Up Mission in 2011, pretty beat up from years of addiction. He’d had a good bit of involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous and even some stretches of clean time, but continued to struggle.

As a member of our 12-month residential Spiritual Program, Daniel progressed well and regrouped a lot of things in his life. He reconnected with his recovery network and developed in his spiritual walk.

After 6 months in our Program, Daniel left – still clean – and continued working his recovery living in the community. In recent weeks, he’s been hanging around HUM again — but not to get back into our Program.

Daniel’s got 18 months of recovery and came back to say hi and to share a little of his own experience, strength and hope with guys who are here now. He talked in my classes and it was great hearing him tell all that God is doing in his life.

While we can’t count Daniel as one of our graduates, he is one of our success stories. And, after all, this is not about our statistics!

This is about life and death. And Daniel chooses life!

Proud of you, D!
