We Really Love You…But We’ll See You Again In the Fall!

Steve’s spent a lot of time in recovery programs. Now, almost 40, he knows he needs to get it together.

He recently did a year at another program in the community, but never really got serious. Consequently, he was “dipping and dabbing” into chemicals from time to time.

Eventually Steve got caught and had to leave – but that turned out to be a wake-up call for him. So, when he arrived here for our 12-month residential Spiritual Recovery Program, he was already looking to do something different.

Steve’s from Maryland’s eastern shore, where mom, dad and Steve’s daughter all still live. They’ve been watching his recovery from a distance and it appeared to them that he just might be making some progress this time.

So last weekend, they invited Steve to come home for the weekend – and it’s been a few years! Of course, it is summertime and travel across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on a Friday afternoon (and the return trip back on a Sunday afternoon) are enough to drive someone to drink!

Well, dad came and picked Steve up on Friday and then brought him back on Sunday. The traffic wasn’t much fun, but the time all together sure was! They would also like him to come again…but, of course, they’ll have to provide the transportation!

So, they’re planning to see Steve again…in the fall, after the beaches close up for the season!

It’s great to be clean and thinking clearly again. It’s also great to be wanted again! Steve’s got both going for him right now – and it feels great!
