Edward has been in Helping Up Mission’s 12-month residential Spiritual Recovery Program twice. The first time he stayed about 8 months and left, “believing I needed to be home to provide for my family. But I wasn’t ready and soon relapsed.”
When he came back here in early November he said,” I returned with a new way of thinking. I knew I was in no position to provide for my family. So I began to pray regularly for God to provide for them as I continued in this process.”
After about two weeks, Ed got word that his wife was accepted into a program which provided permanent housing for the family. It felt like a miracle.
Then, three weeks later, Ed learned that the church his wife and children have been attending provided a 2006 Toyota with a lifetime service contract available through a local Toyota dealership. It looked like another miracle to Ed.
“I am still in awe of it all,” he added. “I continue to trust my family to the LORD, but I also look forward to the day when He will use me to do that directly again. In the meantime, I am learning to understand that God can provide for my family even better than I can.”
What Ed is learning may be the greatest miracle of them all!
