Daughters Still Love Daddys!

Mike’s hardly been around for his daughter’s 34 years of life. He was going hard in his addiction and didn’t want to stop. He also didn’t want her to know him like that…so it was easier to just stay away!

He’s been at Helping Up Mission for about 5 months. Not real excited about our 12-month residential Spiritual Recovery Program at first, it’s sort of grown on him over time.

But Mike’s been doing what he should do and it’s working in his life like it should, too. He’s thinking, feeling and acting differently…and Mike kind of likes this new guy.

So last week he called his daughter. She knew who he was and she was interested in seeing him. They got together and it was a meaningful time.

She wants to develop a relationship with him and wants him to be a part of her life in the future. Mike doesn’t feel worthy, but is very grateful.

This is a wonderful truth about life — when we get serious about doing right things, people are overwhelmingly willing to give us another chance!

Mike doesn’t want to mess this one up!
