This time, Dan arrived — like many guys do — with a number of court cases pending. Everyone knows it looks better when standing before the judge, if we’re in a program to get help!
Here, we deal with each guy’s situation differently…and Dan had four pending cases when he arrived this time. It’s been one a month.
Last week he came back from number four and was able to say, “I’m all done…but do I have to stay and finish this program.”
Dan also arrived here with some medical problems. All the self-medicating he’d been doing was just masking how unhealthy he really was.
That’s been getting addressed, as well. This is important — because it helps a guy be able to focus on his addiction…and the things that keep causing him to use.
Dan still has plenty of struggles — both here at HUM and out there in the community. But he’s working at it these days.
And it will work — if he works it…
