These verses pretty well sum up what this “wife of noble character” (31:10-31) is all about. Her husband has “has full confidence in” this woman he married.
He trusts in her implicitly and she adds great value to his life every day (he “lacks nothing of value”). Consequently, he can expect that “she will brings him good, not harm, all her the days of her life.”
For a guy, I think this verse is about as good as it gets! So I would like to offer three thoughts:
1.) This guy made a conscious decision to marry a woman like this. While he may not have been smart enough to find her – God probably had to bring her to him(!) – he was smart enough to marry her and hold on to her!
2.) It seems reasonable that a guy who gets a wife like this is going to have to be making some pretty good choices, himself, in order to expect this kind of support coming his way every day.
3.) God brought such a lady into my life almost 39 years ago. While she’s not perfect, she didn’t marry a perfect man, either! But together we have learned how to do this individually and together – Honest, Open and Willing (HOW) before God one day at a time.
It’s worked out pretty good for us (me!). I highly recommend it to you.
